AUGTEC, LLC: Experience

The principals' history at AugTec is:

Employed as a Telecommunications Manager with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.  Retired in 1996, with 36 years of federal service.  Employed by ARTEL, Inc. as a Systems Engineer and Technical Assistant contractor to FEMA for 6 years.  Retired again in 2004. 

Program manager for the FEMA National Radio System (FNARS).

Program manager for the Direction Control and Warning Communications System (DCWCS).

Was instrumental in the development and deployment of Automatic Link  Establishment for HF radio  (FED STD 1045 family).  The standard is listed by the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) and is now the federal standard for automated HF radio.

Holds various FCC Federal Communications Commission licenses. I currently hold the licenses W4KRT (Amateur Extra Class and licensed as an amateur radio operator since March 1953), WHL (Maritime Costal Station), AFA2IF (Air Force MARS) and WGY9438 (issued through FEMA), as well as a commercial radio-telephone license w/radar endorsement.
